Manhattan Men’s Grooming Lounge

New York New York Salon and Day Spa in Frederick, Maryland recently announced the expansion of their business to include men’s grooming services. The Octavo Designs team was thrilled when they were asked to take on this identity and branding project to give Manhattan Men’s Grooming Lounge a distinctive character that would appeal to their diverse male audience.

The Project

Manhattan Mens Grooming Lounge Logo

During the discovery and brainstorming stage of the project it was determined that the brand attributes had to be masculine and refined. Our team toured NY NY Salon and Day Spa’s newly renovated space including the new men’s lounge. Our first impression was how luxurious and masculine the space felt with its dark natural woods and rich, vintage barber chairs.

These qualities and details were the perfect fit for the new brand. The logo showcases rich flourishes and a custom hand-lettered “M” at its center, a nod to both the lounge’s name as well as the male clientele. The detailed line work within the “M” is reminiscent of the classic pattern you would see on vintage barber poles. You’ll find a crown cradled near the top of the “M”, symbolic of how each client feels during their relaxing Manhattan Men’s Grooming Lounge experience–like a king.

Full Circle

To bring the identity and branding full circle, the color palette commits to the overall feel with luxurious gold’s and deep, leather tones. Whether at a quick glance or taking a closer look at its detail, the new identity suite offers a high quality and unmistakably masculine experience.
