We don’t just send holiday cards, we engineer them. Craft them. Obsess over them. Honestly, we take our holiday cards more seriously than most people take their fantasy football teams.
By August (yes, August) our concept is already locked in. While everyone else is still debating beach plans, we’re over here sketching, testing, prototyping, and whispering sweet nothings to paper samples. Every element is custom. No shortcuts. No off-the-shelf supplies. No “that’s good enough.”
This Year’s Card? A Holiday Treat… Literally.
For 2025, we went all-in on festive flair with custom hand-lettered typography that practically jingles off the box. And because we can’t resist pushing things further into “are they okay?” territory, we even hand-crafted the chocolate balls that went inside. Your graphic design team doesn’t make their own chocolate? Couldn’t be us.
Chasing the Ghost of Holiday Cards Past
Every year, the biggest challenge isn’t the deadline, it’s outdoing last year’s madness. And with a portfolio like ours, that bar sits way up on the rooftop with Santa and the reindeer.
A few of our greatest holiday hits:
- A pop-up card that made people gasp (in the good, festive way).
- A yeti tunnel book that required more engineering than some small bridges.
- A holiday ouija board, complete with a handmade chocolate planchette.
- A hand-constructed advent calendar with custom illustrations hiding behind every door.
- And, of course, 20+ years of other lovingly over-the-top creations.
Why We Do It
Sure, it’s a lot of work. Sure, we lose count of how many hot glue sticks we go through. But seeing our clients, friends, and partners open these cards, knowing they’re holding something one-of-a-kind, makes the googly-eyed crafting frenzy worth it every single time.
At Octavo Designs, holiday cards are our annual chance to play, explore, and surprise. And trust us… we’re already thinking about next year.
